Welcome

Born in Plymouth, Devon, in 1956. In 1972 took the Queens shilling, and joined the Armed Forces. On leaving in 1986, re-trained as a Technical Illustrator, and later in graphics and Photography.
Worked freelance as an Illustrator/Graphic Designer since 1989, starting in my Studio on the edge of Watership Down, in Hampshire, using photography as a means to obtain visual reference.
Got bitten by the photo bug about 2000, moved from film to digital in 2004. I now live on the Hampshire/Surrey border with my supportive partner, who doubles as my photographic assistant, (She makes a lovely cup of tea).
Photography has become a passion; it has exciting times to come, as I learn my craft, for I believe photography is a continual learning process, especially as the digital age continues to evolve.
I have recently become a member of the Royal Photographic Society, and hope in time to work towards a Distinction, therefore improving my photographic skills.
I enjoy photo retouching, especially old sepia prints. Being old school, I was taught with an airbrush, dust everywhere, facemask, and that loud drone, from what they called a Silent Compressor. What a joy it is to sit in the comfort of my leather chair, retouching on screen, and when I pick up my coffee cup, there's no multi-coloured film floating on top.
I have travelled extensively around the UK, and the World, soaking up the beauty it has to offer, the colour, form, atmosphere, culture, and emotion. To see, feel, and record the moment.
Favourite places? The Devon & Dorset Coast, overseas, it's got to be South Africa.
My future? Striving fot that perfect picture, I know it will never come, but what fun I will have trying. A teacher once wrote in my autograph book, when I was eleven. "If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again". Mrs Green! "I'm still trying".

Thank you for looking at my website, I welcome any feedback, or constructive criticism. If you are intrested in any of my pictures, or have an image that needs retouching, please contact me via my link.
